The National Association of Home Builders' Certified Aging-In-Place Specialist designation recognizes professionals who are trained in developing designs that will enable people of all ages and abilities to safely live in their homes. CAPS professionals work with clients to produce an efficient living environment that is accessible and meets changing needs.
A program set forth by the US Environmental Protection Agency to train builders in lead-safe work practices to protect themselves and the homeowner when remodeling and renovating homes built prior to 1978. Homes built prior to 1978 are likely candidates to contain lead based paints and stain.
The National Association of Home Builders' Certified Green Professional designation recognizes builders and remodelers who incorporate green building principles into homes without driving up the cost of construction. This certification provides solid background in green building methods, procedures and materials for the home building industry.
LEED is the leader in certifing green projects nationwide with a whole building approach to sustainablilty.
